When you begin planning your wedding make a guest list and have each of the parents make a list. Then compare, take off the duplicates and anyone you don't want to invite. Each line represents one invitation. Next to each name write the number of people that invitation invites. If your great aunt Emma lives in Florida and you know she is not coming put a zero by her name. After the invites go out you will get cards in the mail or people will drop a gift by, this means they are not going to attend. Change the number by their name to a zero. This is the most people you should plan on and know that not all of these people will attend your event.
Invitations should be mailed out not longer than 4 weeks ahead and not closer than 2 weeks before the event.
Invitations ordered thru us take 5 to 10 days to receive.
Address the inner envelope with the first names of the people you want to attend, including children. (Sorry if they don't know etiquette)
Order 25 to 50 extra invitations as most come with exact number of envelopes. It will be considerably more expensive to order another 25 later.
Double check the start time with the location before printing or ordering.
How many servings of cake you get out of a layer depend of course on how you cut the cake. Here is a guide on the correct way to cut wedding cake and an approximate of the servings from each layer.
Round Tiers:
Move in two inches from the tier's outer edge; cut a circle and then slice 1 in. pieces within the circle. Now move in another 2 in., cut another circle, slice 1 in. pieces and so on until the tier is completely cut. The center core of each tier and the small top tier can be cut into 3rds, 4ths, and 6ths, depending on size.
Square Tiers:
Move in 2 in. from the outer edge and cut across. Then slice 1 in. pieces of cake. Now move in another 2 in. and slice again until the entire tier is cut.

The colors of your wedding will reflect a lot about you and what type of event you have invisioned. Spend some time looking at different options and trends. Once you have decided on colors make sure to keep samples with you at all times and to give them to everyone envolved in planning. Show us the color and we will get it right, tell us the color and we might get it wrong! Here is just a brief guide to colors and color combinations:
Red and black maybe called standard wedding colors but they always look elegant and sophisticated
Lavender is very versitle and one of the best choices for fresh flowers. It always looks good with purple, but can be mixed with any pastel.
Hunter green can be used any season of the year and can be added to most color schemes for accents. Burgandy is a rich winter color that looks great with hunter.
